Project Funding

The Garden of Surging Waves is presented as a component of a larger redevelopment project focused on the “Legion Block” of downtown Astoria (bound by Duane, Exchange, 11th and 12th Streets). The Astoria Chinese Heritage Park Advisory Committee is committed to raise $800,000 toward construction of the Garden of Surging Waves.

Separate from this fundraising goal, the City of Astoria has made a substantial investment in planning and design of the project. Federal grant funds also helped cover initial planning and design costs.

Individuals and businesses have already begun contributing to the $800,000 goal with donations and the purchase of legacy gifts. If you are interested in contributing to the project's fundraising goal, please contact us.
